Interprofessional education occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. Clinic Design Challenge:As a capstone to their two-year interprofessional educationexperience, the pilot group of advanced practice nursing, medical,pharmacy and social work students in the Vanderbilt Program inInterprofessional Learning designed new health care delivery processesand spaces that focus on patient needs, interprofessional team-basedcare and workplace learning.
With guidance from architects from localfirms, teams collaborated on innovative solutions that consider the following principles:. All workers learn and all learners work. Continuous quality improvement to meet the highest level of patient safety.
